Obituary of William F. Nevius

William F Nevius, of Gibbstown, Greenwich Twp., New Jersey, passed away on August 29, 2018 with his loving family by his side after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He was aged 67 years.

Legacy

Bill will be remembered as an easy going, laid back man. He was resilient and giving and always there to help someone in need. Bill was a dedicated family man, a good husband, father and Pop Pop. He worked as an Electrician for Solvay Solexis but his true passion was on the baseball field molding young ballplayers into the best athletes they could possibly be. He coached in the West Deptford American Legion League for 18 years before developing the South Jersey Bullpen, home of the South Jersey Bulls in 2012.

Away from his work and the ball field, Bill loved spending time with his family creating memories that they will cherish as his legacy. Among those memories were being able to see the Phillies become World Champions in 2008 and just this past winter traveling to Minnesota to witness history as the Philadelphia Eagles capture their first Championship beating the New England Patriots. Summers along the shore in Ocean City; quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren and seeing the result of hard work coaching his players and teams were among the things that Bill enjoyed most. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who knew and loved this special man.

Family

Bill is the beloved husband of Margaret (nee Sacca); loving father of Bill (Jenn) Nevius, III; Brian (Michelle) Nevius and Lauren (Nick) Xenidis; cherished grandfather of Ava, Will, Ryan and Lilah; dear brother of Andrea Gaughan.
