Obituary of Marie Vernacchio
Marie L. Vernacchio (nee DiSebastiano), 84 of Oak Valley, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
Legacy
Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA, but lived 62 years as a resident of the Oak Valley section of Deptford Twp., NJ. A wife, mother and homemaker, her family was her upmost priority. A fantastic cook and an avid reader, who also possessed a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother and her faith. Marie also enjoyed gardening, shopping, fashion, Philadelphia sports and going anywhere with her children or grandchildren. However, one of her greatest pleasures were cuddling, kissing or being around babies. It was a family joke that no baby's cheeks were safe from Grandmom.
Family
She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Harry E. Vernacchio. Devoted mother of Maria Whittingham (John), Steve Vernacchio (Mary), Connie Mercer (Jed), and Gene Vernacchio (Vicky). Adoring grandmother of Cheryl Oakes (Donna), Stephanie Vernacchio, Bobbiann Wieland (Will), Matthew Vernacchio (Eve), John Whittingham (Ana), Kimberly Stief (Chris), Andrea Vernacchio, Nicholas Vernacchio, Anthony Vernacchio and the late Christy Oakes. Cherished Great-grandmother who affectionately called her GiGi, Taylor, Dominic, Andrew, Oliver, Tyler, Haille, Jackson, Kyle, and Lillianna. Daughter of the late Josephine and Carmine DiSebastino. Dear sister of Rose DiSebastiano and Carmine DiSebastiano. Her treasured care givers Nani and Dazo JiJelava. She will be missed by many friends and family.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, July 23rd from 9:00AM to 10:45AM in the Infant Jesus Parish- St. Margaret's Church, 3rd & Beech St., Woodbury Hgts., NJ. 11:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment to follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made in Marie's name to the St. Jude's Children Foundation-www.stjude.org or Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter www.alz.org/desjsepa.
