HOPE Support Group

July 2, 2018 - July 11, 2018

HOPE is a unique support group serving widowed men and women of all ages since 1979. The goal of HOPE is to assist men and women of all ages as they evolve through the natural stages of the grieving process from the loss of a spouse, partner, or significant other. HOPE is a self-help support group staffed and guided by volunteers who have been widowed and are past graduates of the program. The program strives to aid in recovering and healing, instill self-confidence and self-reliance, help set new goals, and assist in building a new life.

If anyone is interested in attending, please call Elisha Elliott at (856) 582-3800 to obtain a letter on that will allow you to attend the group free of charge. Also find HOPE at www.hopesnj.org or call the HOPE office at (856) 234-2200 for information or to register.

Healing Mass

This mass is dedicated to the Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney and is located at the Saint Vincent DePaul Church, 5021 Harding Hwy, Route 40, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.

Post-Memorial Day BBQ

McGuinness Community Care presents Post-Memorial Day BBQ celebrating our veterans and first responders! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and join us on the lawn of our Washington Township location on Sunday, June 3rd at 6PM. Enjoy the amazing military sounds of Bonsal Blues Band as they perform patriotic tunes from yesterday and today!

This is a FREE concert event and BBQ, featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, and Mr. Softee ice cream cones! There is no rain date - in case of rain, the concert will be held indoors. Butterfly Release (CLOSED - Max Capacity Reached, Thank You!)

The McGuinness Family invites you and your family to a Butterfly Release for a unique afternoon of honoring and remembering. Please join us Sunday, June 3rd for an afternoon of celebrating your loved ones. All guests attending will receive a live butterfly to release into "Marie's Memory Garden," located on the grounds of our Washington Township location.

Fellowship and light refreshments will follow the release. Registration is required and begins at 12:30PM, the program begins at 1PM. RSVP no later than May 25th to ensure a live butterfly will be reserved for you and your family. Free Community Shredder Event

McGuinness Funeral Home is helping you shred your sensitive documents so that they don't wind up in the wrong hands. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing non-violent crimes in America. Proper destruction of confidential documents is a critical step in ensuring that you and your family members do not become victims of identity theft. We are teaming up with ProShred Security to ensure that your personal and confidential materials are securely destroyed in a state-of-the-art mobile shredding vehicle. The following items can be shredded: all types and colors of paper; staples, clips, metal fasteners; report covers. The following items cannot be shredded: any large and chunky plastic or metal items; any electronics (these can't be accepted for security purposes-- there is no way to trace the electronic back to the original owner to complete the chain of custody), binders, or X-rays.

So bring your confidential items to our upcoming Shredder Event, to be held at our Washington Twp. (Sewell) location--573 Egg Harbor Road! You can, with confidence, know that your materials will be securely destroyed! This event is free to the public! Limit: 5 boxes per turn in line.

LifeSteps Grief Support Workshops​

The unique 5-week LifeSteps workshops afford the surviving spouse, companion, parent, child, sibling, or friend of someone who has passed on the opportunity to come together with others who have experienced loss, in a small group setting.

LifeSteps™ is a set of five weekly workshops designed to encourage healing for those who have lost a loved one. In this small group setting, we will share practical tips and expert advice on healing through your own journey through grief. Pet therapy is available during each workshop courtesy of FurEver as Friends. 

Participants have found these workshops to be therapeutic and helpful on their journey to their “new normal.”

FURever As Friends Pets Helping People Fundraiser

It's 2018! Time to clean our closets and start the year off fresh, while raising money for FAF! The more bags we collect, the more money is made for FAF. Clothing Drive is a charitable organization that collects clothes, toys, stuffed animals and household items by the bagful and sends them to needy folks here in the US and around the world (see ClothingDrive.net).

So, please gather some kitchen size trashbags full of stuff you no longer need and let us know! We can arrange to get them and donate them or give you a location drop off. 

The Drive ends February 15, so start clearing out!
