Obituary of John William Geers

John W. Geers,  age 78, of Franklinville, NJ, passed away on March 30, 2018.

A kind hearted and loving man, John dedicated his life to his family.  He was passionate about animals, especially his dogs Raisin and Parker and his cats Yum-Yum, Watson, Mimi and Ollie.  John was the former owner of the pet friendly motel in Wildwood, Surf 16.  He was a meat cutter by trade.  John was a jokester and a wonderful storyteller.  A gentle soul among us, he will be missed deeply. 

Beloved husband of 35 years to Susan (nee Dolan);  devoted father of Rick Geers (Louise), Debora Long (Del), Gary Geers and Tina Persico;  loving grandfather of Andrew Geers, Gary Geers, Jr., Chris Persico (Caitlin), Jason Persico, Steven Geers, Roxanne Geers, Rozlyn Geers, Natalie Persico, Carolyn Geers (Justin) and great-grandfather of Anthony;  dear brother of Mary Harvey (Buddy) and Hank Geers (Peggy).

Relatives and friends are invited to John’s Visitation on Saturday, May 5th, from 11:30AM – 12:00 PM  in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 573 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell.  Funeral Service to follow at 12PM.   Interment private at the request of the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Oasis Animal Sanctuary, 698 Central Ave, Franklinville, NJ  08322 or American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202, www.diabetes.org.  share the memories … share love … ShareLife® at www.mcgfuneral.com
