Obituary of John Richard Pettit

Woodbury Heights- John Richard Pettit, 77, passed away on Wednesday January 17, 2018. He passed very peacefully with his loving family surrounding him. Legacy John was born in Woodbury, NJ on August 27, 1940. He was the son of Marguerite and Preston Pettit. He graduated from Paulsboro High school. He attended Ursinus College. John began his career in real estate. He was a chemist for 35 years at DuPont while continuing his involvement in the real estate field. John was a fisherman and enjoyed taking fishing trips with his friends and family. He was also an exceptional pool player. He spent a lot of time playing pinochle with his friends. John was dedicated dog owner. Throughout his life he trained his Labradors and his beagles to hunt along with him. His dogs held a special place in his heart; (Jake, Maggie, Sandy, Dewey, and Snog) Family He is survived by his children; Michael Pettit and his wife Linda, Janice Brundage and her husband Frank Brundage, His grandchildren; Cassandra and Melanie Brundage, Amanda Haines. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he was predeceased by his step son Phillip Gomiser. He shared many years with his companion, Joyce Cohen; both enjoyed traveling.
