Obituary of Patricia Ann Toreki

Patricia Ann (Samuel) Toreki, 77, of Glassboro and formerly of Barnegat, NJ passed away January 8, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. Raised in South River, NJ she was also a longtime resident of Lower Bucks County, PA, where she raised her family with her beloved husband, Bill. Patricia graduated from South River High School, Class of 1958. She then attended Trenton State College where she obtained a degree in education. After her children were in high school she went back to school and obtained her Juris Doctorate from Temple University. She had a private law practice in Morrisville, PA. She was very active in the government of Lower Makefield Township, PA between 1987 and 1992 and served as Chairman of the Township's Board of Supervisors before moving to Barnegat, NJ and becoming a realtor. She then went back into the legal profession and was Assistant Prosecutor for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office until her retirement in 2008. Pat and Bill loved to travel, including visits to Europe several times. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and recently helped start a Zumba Gold class in her community. Patricia is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Toreki, MD, MPH; her children, William Toreki III, PhD of Gainesville, FL, Cynthia (Wade) Bednarik of Sicklerville, and Dr. Robert (Caroline) Toreki of Sewell; brother, Stanley Samuel; grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, Amanda, Scott, and Eric; and great-grandson, Julian. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Per the family's request there will be no funeral services. A memorial service will be held later at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network(www.pancan.org), or the Lustgarten Foundation (www.lustgarten.org), both of which are active in trying to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
